The key to effective packing, in my opinion, is staying as organized as possible. There’s nothing worse than overpacking and, after the trip, realizing you forgot you packed 75% of what you brought (speaking from personal experience)!
I love traveling, but hate the never-ending process of editing everything I want to pack to make sure it fits in the suitcase. After much trial and error, I’ve narrowed down a few favorite essentials that I take on almost every trip that keep me organized and packing-efficient:
Packing cubes
Hands down my #1 most recommended travel accessory: packing cubes. Especially amazing for long-haul trips where you may be moving around a lot, but equally helpful for even a weekend getaway! You’d be amazed at how much more you can fit in your luggage when using these and how much easier it is to find what you’re looking for!
Vinyl toiletry bags
These pouches have been a lifesaver in organizing carry-ons/purses/totes when traveling! They’re thin and hold a decent amount for their size – I’ve used them for snacks, chargers & cords, and to store items when headed to the beach!
Portable battery charger
Does anyone else feel like they own a million portable chargers but don’t know where they are (or can’t find the charge cord, ironically)? If that sounds like you, or if you’re simply in the market looking for a portable charger, I love this slender 2-pack.
Travel-sized pump bottles
The best travel beauty storage you never knew you needed – until now! I recently picked up these travel-sized airless pump bottles for an upcoming trip and they’re perfect for oils, serums, or other products you don’t want to take full-sized.
Makeup case
I love these affordable versions of the popular Truffle cosmetic case. The double-sided vinyl makes it easy to see where your products are, and the size is perfect and compact. It also fits much more than you’d think! Check it out here.
Hat clip
Buy now and thank me later! No more having to juggle carrying a hat on flights; this compact item is the perfect solution! It takes up no space at all, is very affordable, and is one of my favorite travel hacks!
Steamer
More compact and convenient than irons, steamers will become your new best friend. I can’t tell you the last time I traveled without one – what I love most it’s less damaging to fabric, and you never need to worry about having an ironing board around.
